Electricity sales brokerage

In a liberalised market, business electricity prices differ from one company to the next. We help you understand offers, compare suppliers and cut costs.

What you get

  • An individual approach: we analyse your consumption and profile before talking to suppliers.
  • Offers made comparable — price, model (fixed/indexed), term, deviation and balancing terms.
  • Fewer surprises on your bill because every contract item is understood.
  • Energy procurement linked to measures that cut grid consumption (solar, compensation, peak demand).
  • Support when moving from public to market-based supply.

For many companies in Bosnia and Herzegovina, electricity is no longer a regulated service with a single price but a commodity contracted on the market. That opens room for savings — and for costly mistakes, from an unfavourable pricing model to penalties for deviating from forecast consumption.

Who it is for

  • Companies buying electricity on the market or that have lost the right to public supply.
  • Companies with several metering points and sites.
  • Larger consumers for whom a fraction of a cent per kWh adds up to a significant annual amount.

In the Federation of BiH, according to Elektroprivreda BiH’s 2023 explanation, public supply remained available to households, customers of special social importance and small customers that simultaneously have fewer than 50 employees, revenue below BAM 8 million, all sites connected below 1 kV and consumption of up to 50,000 kWh in the previous year. Other companies buy from licensed market suppliers. Check current regulations, as rules and criteria change.

What is included

  1. Consumption profile analysis — how much, when, and at which metering points.
  2. Contract review — price, model, terms, deviations, balancing.
  3. Like-for-like comparison of offers, including all additional costs.
  4. Recommendation and contracting support, including switching supplier.
  5. Monitoring throughout the contract term.

How the market works

A business bill on market supply usually has two parts: energy, priced in your contract with the supplier, and network charges (transmission and distribution), which are regulated and the same regardless of supplier. Depending on the tariff group, the bill may also include billed peak demand and excess reactive energy.

The energy price is driven mainly by:

  • pricing model — fixed for the contract term or indexed to exchange prices,
  • consumption profile — flat consumption is cheaper to supply than pronounced peaks,
  • contract term and timing,
  • deviation terms and balancing costs.

Where the savings come from

The biggest savings usually come from combining a better contract with lower grid consumption. That is why we look at procurement together with solar PV, reactive power compensation and energy consulting.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about this service

Does my company have to buy electricity on the market?

In the Federation of BiH, according to Elektroprivreda BiH's 2023 explanation, the right to public supply is kept by households and small customers meeting all of these conditions: fewer than 50 employees, annual revenue below BAM 8 million, connection below 1 kV and consumption of no more than 50,000 kWh in the previous year. Others buy from market suppliers. Rules change — check current regulations for your entity.

Why do two companies with the same supplier pay different prices?

On market supply, prices are set on market principles and depend on consumption profile, volume, contract term, balancing costs and other supplier criteria.

Which is better: a fixed or an indexed price?

A fixed price gives budget certainty; an indexed price (linked to exchange prices) can be cheaper when prices fall but carries the risk of increases. The choice depends on your risk tolerance and consumption profile.

Can I switch supplier?

Yes, market customers can choose their supplier, subject to the terms and notice periods of the current contract. Switching supplier does not change the physical connection — the network is still operated by the distribution system operator.
